Celebrity purchase in Clovelly $13m+
Sydney real estate auctioneer Paul Crawford of Menck White Auctioneers sold 2 Cliffbrook Pde, Clovelly under the hammer at auction in early March for Alexander Phillips and the Phillips Pantzer Donnelley team.
The celebrity purchaser was well publicised in press circles (though we won't name them here as a mark of respect and privacy). The auction attracted 3 registered bidders who duelled in varying increments driving the bidding north of $13m before the hammer came down.
The Sydney prestige property market has seen very strong activity with the top end of town less restrained by the forces affecting other segments of the real estate market.
In any case the Sydney market appears to have passed the bottom with Core Logic reporting the first month-on-month growth in median house prices across Australian capital cities in March, after 10 consecutive months of decline. This triangulated with strong clearance rates and strong average registration numbers across the start of 2023 indicate we are past the bottom and potentially entering a price growth phase once again.
